Why Women feel more anxious than men in collectivist cultures?

In collectivistic cultures, Women are taught and trained, directly or indirectly, to be dependent on men. Women are taught from the childhood that, Men are their protectors and saviors, and hence woman cannot face the world problems without a man. In general, these are the men who make major life decisions related to house hold, education and marriage of a woman. Consequently woman cannot take decision independently and they become more anxious at the time of making a decision, turning to men for help. Therefore, women can be found more expressing anxiety and helplessness. The collectivist society is always a male dominated society where girls are brought up with a belief that they have to always please the others. The societal pressure to be perfect and fear of failures also leads to anxiety attitude in women.
